Enjoying Brussels

Not to be this morning for David Rath and Alex Jacewicz in the European Final. The students came a very commendable 7th and had a fantastic two days experiencing all that Brussels has to offer.

Among the highlights was a visit to the VikiFin Lab which is an interactive and digital centre for financial education. They also got to witness the Opening Bell Ceremony at the European Banking Federation. Moreover, they had the opportunity to site see and socialise with their peers from all over Europe while enjoying enjoy some fine dining. Thanks to the Banking Federation and Payments of Ireland for giving them this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Jim O’Keeffe, President of BPFI and AIB Managing Director of Retail Banking stated: “This year we had over 2000 students from over 80 schools across Ireland register for the Irish finals of the European Money Quiz, so the winning students did exceptionally well to get through. It is a really important event on our calendar that encourages young people to think about money and finance from both a personal and business perspective, while the real-time competition brings a bit of fun to the learning experience.”
