Prep For Med Day
Last Friday two DCS students, Praveen Sureshkumar and Cormac Byrne, attended the 2023 UCC Prep For Med day.
During the morning session the students discovered how clinical skills are taught in UCC Medical School. They also learned about the forensics of a crime scene. Real CSI!
The afternoon session was held in the CUH where the students observed a surgeon perform a live caesarean section! They also learned about emergency medicine and critical care, the medical ethical dilemmas of a doctor and advances in research and education.
Many thanks to our Career Guidance teacher, Ms. Kathryn Daly, and Biology teacher, Mr. Cian O’ Mahony, for organising this invaluable experience for the two students .
