Spidereile

DCS was alive with Christmas cheer last week as the Transition Year Show SPIDEREILE took to the stage. This year's take on Cinderella saw other cameo appearances  from firm favourites such as Spiderman, Britney Spears and Mr. O’ Cuanacháin. Drizella, one of the very ugly stepsisters, played by Robbie O’Brien gives us his account. 

“It was definitely the highlight of my time in Douglas Community School so far.  The arrival of over 1,000 local primary school students and the reception we were given was surreal. There were the high fives, the children swarming our actors, especially Spider-Man, the singing along during our performances, the cheering and booing.  It was fantastic. We were given so many compliments from teachers and students alike. It was an experience to be on stage and see an intrigued audience enjoying our play.”

 “We couldn’t have done it without the behind the scenes work from the sound and lighting team and of course our teachers, Ms. Healy, Ms. Barry, Ms. McMahon and Mr. Lowney. It was a real team effort and one that I feel very privileged and proud to be part of.”
