Robin the Rich, Boys in the Hood 🏹 🎭

Last week the Transition Year show, ‘Robin the Rich, Boys in the Hood’ filled the school with an explosion of merry fun. Audiences were entertained by classic characters such as Robin Hood and the Fairy Godmother joined by more modern faces such as Donald Trump and Liam Gallagher. We get a glimpse of the inner workings of the play in this account from Maid Marian, played by Ciarán Canty.

“Being a part of the DCS Play is something that I think every student should absolutely do. Be brave, wear the costume, get the makeup done (Granted you’ll never look as fabulous as me), I am sure you won’t regret it. Step out of your comfort zone, go for the big role, because in 10 years time when you are thinking back fondly on your time here, I guarantee that your experience with the show will be one of the first things to come to mind.

This play marks the tenth and final play spearheaded by Ms. Healy. It would never have been possible without her and the other teachers: Ms Lordan, Ms. Maher and Ms. O’ Reilly.”

As the curtain falls on Ms Healy’s involvement in TY Pantos her immeasurable contribution must be acknowledged. She is the driving force behind the shows; the impresario of DCS Drama. She is the scriptwriter, the director, the choreographer, a make up artist, a costume designer, the chief prompter and head gofer! The Drama will continue but it may never be the same again…..watch this space!
