DCS Yr1 Wellbeing Public Speaking Competition
Today Yr1 students took part in the second annual Wellbeing Public Speaking competition in DCS. The aim of the competition is to hear students’ opinions on issues of wellbeing in a formal public forum. Participants spoke passionately and eloquently, for up to three minutes, on topics such as Healthy Body - Healthy Mind, It’s OK to be Different, Climate Change and Let’s talk about School Uniform.
Deputy Principal Mr Chris Hickey adjudicated, ably assisted by Jonathan Solomon and Manuel Bravo Lopez (Senior Debating students).
The overall winner was Richard Nkoye- Eale with Lewis Edwards and Joshua Rea-Cotter placed second and third respectively. David O’Neill was awarded the highly commended prize. Many thanks to Ms McCarthy Craig and Ms Harrington for organising such a wonderful event.
