DCS Chess at the CheckMate All Ireland Finals

DCS enjoyed a successful day at the 2023 CheckMate All Ireland Finals in Nenagh. 4 DCS teams entered with final standings of 2nd, 6th, 11th and 14th out of 28 competing teams. Honours went to the team compiling of Jack Gleeson, Adam O'Brien, Alex Jacewicz and Ciarán Canty who finished 2nd overall. Jack Gleeson came 4th in the individual competition out of 103 players. This success is an indication of the growing popularity of chess in DCS. Well done to all in the thriving Chess Club and their mentor, Ms Clarson.
