Majd Triumphs at the All Ireland ChessZ Finals ♟️

13 DCS students competed against 88 others in the ChessZ finals held in Nenagh on Thursday. The format: A Swiss style tournament where each competitor plays 6 matches. The more matches won the stronger the opposition in the next round.

Congratulations to Madj Hamam, 3A, the only student out of the 101 cohort to win all 6 of his matches with an incredibly tense and exciting final game to seal the singles title. A special mention to Messi Camal, 2C, and Ciarán Canty, 3B, who finished 13th and 18th respectively.

The future of DCS Chess Club is extremely bright with such strong junior players. Well done to the DCS chess team and their mentor Ms Clarson. ♟️
