Results to be Proud Of!

As the long awaited Leaving Certificate results were released last Friday, our thoughts and best wishes are now with the LC Class of 2023 and the new challenges you face. Your results were outstanding. All the diligent work, commitment and perseverance has paid off. You have now reaped the benefits of your hard work. We are so proud of you all.

Billy Murphy and Eoin Sheehan received the maximum of 625 points with so many more of our students maximising their potential. Of note is the huge variety of subjects in which our students excelled; from languages to the sciences, from the arts to business and technical subjects.

DCS Leaving Certificate students exceeded the national average of H1’s in a staggering 14 subjects!! There were double the national average in higher level English and French, 24% of students received a H1 in Maths with another 24% receiving a H2, almost half the HL Maths class! Truly outstanding results.

PE is a relatively new subject to the curriculum and 11% of our students achieved the elusive H1 while our gaeilgeoirs had a 15% H1 rate. Construction H1’s were 22%, far in excess of the 9% national average. 50% of students achieved a H1 in History, 50% achieved H1s in Applied Maths with 40% achieved a H1 in Accounting. The science department was, as usual, well represented with 33% achieving H1’s in Physics, 35% in Chemistry and 29% in Biology.

These statistics are testament to the excellent students, teachers and overall team work that DCS prides itself on. We wish our Leaving Certificate class of 2023 the very best of luck in the diverse careers that lie ahead and health and happiness to accompany them always.
