Gougane Barra Trip Lives Up To Expectations

Earlier this week our 1st Year students went on their eagerly awaited trip to Gougane Barra along with their 5th Year mentors. Both days saw glorious sunshine and a fantastic day was had by all.

It was an action packed trip where they learned about St. Finbarr, the first Bishop of Cork, and furthered their knowledge of the history of Gougane. The group also visited the Oratory where they prayed for their families. The students hiked into the mountainous forest where they were rewarded with spectacular waterfalls and saw the spring of our own River Lee.

Thanks to Ms Anne Barry Murphy for organising this outing.
