Football Came Home - Past Pupil Celtic and Ireland Striker Adam Idah Visits DCS

DCS past pupil Adam Idah visited his old school as part of the launch of the Cork Super Cup. The match will be played on July 8th in Pairc Ui Chaoimh between Cork City and Glasgow Celtic and no doubt many of our students will attend having been inspired by Adam’s visit. He generously presented a signed Celtic jersey to the school which will take pride of place on our Sporting Heroes wall. Adam patiently spent a great deal of time taking photos, signing jerseys and even taking part in a training session with our First Year and U15 Soccer squads. It was a pleasure to see Adam again as he caught up with many of his former teachers to reminisce about his DCS days….days that were filled with both academic success and sporting successes across many different sports. A Cork County championship was won in the past, largely thanks to Adam’s ability with a hurley!

We wish Adam every success for the remainder of the season for both club and country and we look forward to seeing him in action down the Pairc in July!
