DCS Uplifting Carol Service

Christmas would not be complete in DCS without our annual uplifting Carol service. The focus this year was fittingly on world peace. There were poignant readings and prayers of Intercession read by our students in Irish, English, French, German and Polish.

This year our Christmas tree had paper “Cranes” hanging on it. These “Cranes”, made by our 4th and 5th Year students during RE classes are a symbol of the Japanese group, Nihon Hidanyko, winners of the Nobel Peace Prize. This group, survivors of the dropping of the Atom bombs, have dedicated their lives to speaking to governments throughout the world in an effort to stop the use of nuclear weapons.

Accomplished musicians and our beautiful choir added joy and hope to the event with beautiful renditions of traditional Christmas Carols including “O Holy Night” and “Fairytale Of New York”.

The commitment and enthusiasm of students and teachers has to be commended for making this such a special occasion.
