DCS Proudly Represented In Croke Park Global Money Week Launch

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission launched their Global Money Week activities this week in Croke Park. Sam Scriven and Josh Healy represented DCS, one of just 16 schools that were invited to join the event, as a result of our extremely successful Financial Literacy initiative. Our DCS TY team developed an initiative to educate 1st Years manage their money.

Brian McHugh, Chairperson of the CCPC, spoke about the importance of protecting, informing and empowering young people to make financial decisions.

Robert Troy, Minister of State from the Department of Finance discussed the recent launch of the National Financial Literacy campaign and stressed the importance of the Student Voice in its development.

Think before you follow” is the focus of this year’s Global Money Week, highlighting the risks associated with following potentially biased advice from online influencers.

DCS were delighted to partake in this initiative and are committed to continuing to help students become comfortable with making sound financial decisions.
