Oireachtas Essay Competition Winner
Oireachtas national essay competition winner and Yr6 DCS student James O’Connor attended a prestigious prize giving ceremony in Leinster House recently. James was accompanied by Mr Barry (Principal) and Ms O’Dwyer (James’ English teacher) as well as his proud parents as he enjoyed a tour of the Oireachtas with the Ceann Comhairle, Mr Seán Ó Fearghail. During the ceremony James delivered his essay to a captivated audience arguing convincingly that “Parliamentary Politics Matters”. James drew on his vast historical knowledge to explore the view that Ireland is a better place and society has been transformed for the benefit of Irish citizens due to our parliamentary democracy. Well done to James.
