Back to Back All Ireland Volleyball Champions

DCS Volleyball are back to back All Ireland Champions! Having won the Senior B division last year the team took to Senior A at their ease. The played Dungarvan College in Mondays final in the National Indoor Arena at the Sport Ireland Campus in Dublin.

Having lost to Dungarvan in the first round of this years competition, the teams were set for an epic battle. Dungarvan were clinical and put up a fierce battle taking early leads in the first and third set. However DCS, spurred on by the vocal and enthusiastic DCS student supporters, dug deep and came from behind on multiple occasions to take game 3 sets to 0. 

In a team performance, Charlie Gleeson stood out, particularly in the second set, as he scored 6 points from serves. His individual talent was rewarded upon receiving the MVP Award.  The team, captained by Pierce McFarlane, deserve massive congratulations on a hard fought victory. Well done to each of you and to their fantastic mentor Ms Maher.
