2nd Yr Students Take To The Polling Station At DCS Cork South Central 🗳️

On Friday November 29th, Ms Clifford’s 2E CSPE class organised an in-house election to simulate the national Irish election for all second-year students. Each student was escorted to the assembly area, where they registered their pre-assigned voting cards, just as in a real election. They then moved to their individual polling booths to cast their votes anonymously.

This hands-on experience was invaluable in raising political awareness among the DCS students, giving them a firsthand understanding of the electoral process. The initiative not only encouraged active participation but also fostered a greater appreciation for the importance of voting and civic engagement — especially among those who will shape the future of our government. It will be very interesting to see if the views of our second-year students align with those of the wider population!
