U18 Munster Cup First Round

Douglas Community School 3
Deer Park 2

Douglas made a poor start to this game and were punished when they went 1-0 down in the first minute and were lucky not to go 2 down when Deer Park hit the post after 5 minutes.

Douglas got lucky again when they got a free kick after 20 minutes and Oisin McGrath miss hit it but it bounced in thanks to some poor keeping. But Douglas went behind again after 35 minutes because of some very poor defending.

At half time Douglas made 2 switches, bringing on Mark Drumind and Matthew Murphy for David Duggan and James O’ Sullivan.

Douglas were level once again thanks to a great team move rounded off by substitute Mark Drumind.

The winning goal came with 10 minutes left; again it was Mark Drumind who finished it off. The ball was swung in from a free kick which fell perfectly to Drumind who finished it well.

It was a good game overall with Douglas dominating the possession for most of the second half, although they made hard work of it they got the result in the end.
