Douglas started the game poorly and were seven points down after ten minutes. Kieran Nevin came of with sore ribs and Sam O’Mahony came on. Before the end of the first half Mallow had scored again and had converted the conversion to make it fourteen nil at half time.
Within minutes of the second half starting Douglas conceded another try but the conversion was missed. After this Douglas picked up their game and were putting Mallows defence under severe pressure. Douglas thought they had a try when Alan Walsh appeared to touch the ball down but the referee gave a penalty. Thomas Goulding was playing well for Douglas at this moment but despite the best efforts of Douglas the game ended nineteen nil to Mallow.
