Birmingham International Cross-Country

cross country lads september

Three Douglas Community School students took part in the UK International Cross-Country event in Birmingham on Saturday October 28th. Craig Murphy and
Michael Carroll competed in the u17 race and Adam Kelleher competed in the u15 race. The races were held in Birminghams Sennelys Park on a demanding
course. There were large numbers in each race and some of the best runners from England, Scotland and Wales were competing.

Adam Kelleher finshished a superb 44th out of 90 competitors in the u15 race. In the u17 event held over 5,000m, Craig Murphy proved once again what a fantastic athlete he is with a superb win, defeating some of the UK’s top athletes. Michael Carroll came a very impressive 54th running against athletes aged two years older than him. All in all some fantastic performances from the Douglas athletes.
