Opera House Show


unnamedCongratulations to Cian Dadgar who has been cast in the principle role of Simba, in the Cork Opera House’s production of “An African Journey”. Cian Dadgar previously played one of the child catchers in DCS’s fourth year pantomime “Pinocchio”. Joining Cian are Hugh Deasy cast as Tomon; Hugh played Peter’s Shadow in “Pinocchio”, also cast is Patrick Walsh who played the part of Pinocchio’s granny, Granny Basher. Patrick will be playing Pumbaa. Second year student, Gavin Smith has also been cast in a lead role, he will be playing Zazu. The three hyenas will be played by 5th year DCS students; Daniel Coughlan (Rick Grimes in “Anything But the Sound of Music”, David Smith, (Maria in “Anything But the Sound of Music), Tresor Pembele (Mother Superior in “Anything But the Sound of Music”). Both David and Tresor recently took part in our winning video for “Show Racism the Red Card”.

It is testament to the hard work and dedication of our drama department that so many of our students have been cast in lead roles in this production. We wish them good luck.
