Historic Day of Sporting Finals

Thursday the 27th of April was an historic day in the sporting history of the school with three teams competing in three finals across the country.

The Yr1 Soccer squad, coached by Mr Fahy, won the Munster u13 Cup final on penalties after a 1-1 draw aet. Oscar McCarthy scored a fine equaliser in the second period of extra time while Oran Crowe was undoubtedly the hero donning the keeper jersey for the shootout and saving 3 penalties.

Meanwhile in the National Basketball Arena, Dublin the u14 Basketball squad were battling bravely in the All Ireland series but unfortunately lost out to a strong side from Galway. Commiserations  to the squad and Ms O’Callaghan, coach.

Finally the Senior Gaelic Football team lost out in the County Cup final to a strong Patrician Academy side by 1-14 to 1-9.

A great effort from the entire team and their mentor Mr Ronayne.
