Record-Breaking Senior Athletes Make History with 8 in a Row!

It has been a busy two weeks for the athletes of Douglas Community School.

At the Munster u20 Cross-Country championships in Limerick the team of John Durcan, Eoin Bourke, Brendan Couch, Alan Ring, Fionn Bracken and Emmet Bracken came 2nd in the team contest. It was a fantastic day for the school at the South Munster Schools XC Championships at a very wet and mucky Cork IT. The main highlights included:

– Minor Boys: Alan O Donovan 12th. Douglas CS 2nd Team

– Junior Boys: Ben Smith 5th. Douglas CS 2nd Team

– Inter Boys: Jamie O Connell 3rd, Stephen Cotter 5th, Luke Varian 6th, Liam Harris 7th. Douglas CS 1st Team

– Senior Boys: John Durcan 2nd and Eoin Bourke 5th. Douglas CS 1st team and making history, winning the senior boys’ team title for the 8th consecutive year.

– Douglas CS won the best overall school cup for a historic 9th successive year.

Well done to all our athletes on some outstanding performances.
