Douglas Community School was delighted with the announcement during Science Week that James Cuthbert (Third Year) was placed fourth out of teams from 110 schools nationally in the Saffron Schools Science Competition, sponsored by eFlow and ITS Ireland. The competition, aimed at generating an interest in science-related careers among second-level schools, required students to create a short video showing what transport will look like in 2030. James was highly commended by the judges for his animation skills and won a €1000 voucher towards a school tour. James was also the school entrant in the Irish Heart Foundation Pumped movie contest. It seems he has a promising future in design and animation.
